The reason one writes isn't the fact he wants to say something. He writes because he has something to say.

Alan Gooch - Published December 2012

About the Author

Alan Gooch was born in Liverpool and spent over 25 years distracted by the less than glamourous business of concrete and concrete repair technologies. A real conversation stopper. On the positive side, and in progressively more senior commercial and business development roles, this necessitated extensive travel around the world as well as periods of living overseas, in Asia and the Middle East.

Having aspired to write from an early age, the day-job always got in the way. After a couple of early failed attempts best forgotten, Alan’s first published novel, Miller’s Deal, now sadly out of print, arrived on the shelves 20 years ago. This was a thriller set in the UK and Dubai.

The irresistible attraction to all things concrete continued to have an adverse effect on literary ambition but now, having moved on from corporate life, Alan plans to put his experiences of people and places to good use.

Alan Gooch

Alan is married to Clare and they live in an old inn (which closed its doors in 1928) in an Oxfordshire village. They have two boys, Mitchell and Steven.

His new thriller Unforeseen Consequences is set against the exciting backdrop of Dubai.
